The Marine is officially in Japan and I spoke with him the night before last on Skype so it works! He said his flight went through Alaska where he had a 2 hour layover and then a very long flight to Okinawa arriving around 1AM their time. When I spoke to him it was around 10PM CST time meaning that it was 12 noon his time... a 14 hour difference! He said that the weather there is super hot and humid, worse than Texas. They have to get acclimated to the area before they start to train so we have a couple weeks to speak to him on Skype before he travels to the Philippines to start his first training experience. Evidently on Tuesday they get internet in their room too so we will be able to speak with him regularly! His room is very similar to his room while he was in California and I'm sure the unmade beds haven't gone unnoticed... nice marine.
